2006 Canon Envirothon
High School Students to Convene at University of Manitoba
July 23 to 29

Manitoba has won the right to host the 2006 competition following an open bid process regulated by the Canon Envirothon Committee. "We're very excited to be able to host the crown jewel of environmental education in Manitoba," said Jim Potton, chairman of the Manitoba Envirothon and President of the Manitoba Forestry Association, which is the host agency for Envirothon in Manitoba.

Canon Envirothon is a weeklong competition among winning provincial/state teams from across North America. The competition tests five general themes including: Soils and Land Use, Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Wildlife and a current Environmental Study issue, which for 2006 is Water Stewardship in a Changing Climate.
